Get started with Forum

Most installations of Forum require you to provide a username and password before you can do meaningful work with the product.

To log in:

1. Make sure you have a registered username and password.
2. View the workspace page.
3. In the "Login name" box, enter your username and press the Return key (if you are using Internet Explorer) or the Tab key (if you are using Netscape). Be sure to specify any required uppercase letters.
4. Enter your password in the Password box, enter your password and press the Return key (Internet Explorer) or click Login (Netscape). Be sure to specify any required uppercase letters.

   Forum displays the workspace page, which, by default, welcomes you by the name you provided when you registered.

If your organization uses NT domains and Internet Explorer browsers, your manager may have set up Forum so that your login process is slightly different. Also, if your managers radically customized Forum, you may have a login process that is unique to your organization.

To perform the intitial setup of Forum, you must be logged in as a member of the SSF Administrators group. By default, there is one member of this group: wf_admin.

To log in as the wf_admin user:

1. Enter wf_admin in the "Login name" text box.
2. In the Password text box, enter the administrative password that you specified when you installed Forum.
3. Click Login.

   You are now logged in.
